You probably know by now how I’ve been going back and forth to Dr. Aivee and Z Teo’s The A Institute. (I first wrote about them here). This has become my happy place, where I seek pampering and comfort after a busy and hectic week!
The clinic, or shall I say the institute (because it is indeed quite large inside!) is very well-appointed and has such a relaxing atmosphere which you can feel the minute you enter. Oh and the staff — the super friendly and knowledgeable staff — are what I would say are some of the biggest assets to this gem in the city!
Since a lot of you are curious to know what I’ve often been seen doing and talking about on Instagram, allow me to share with you this step-by-step guide, so you can find out what really happens during the Gold Facial, currently my favorite facial in The A Institute!
Step 1 : Face is cleansed and makeup is removed with a gentle cleanser.
Step 2 : Face is massaged by therapist. Pressure points are pressed — and this helps in having good blood circulation.
Step 3 : A white gauze wet with a firming toner is placed all over the face and left there for a few minutes to be absorbed by the skin.
Step 4 : Diamond Peel exfoliation is done to remove all dead skin cells on the top layer of the skin.
Step 5 : Gentle pricking is done to rid the skin of pimples, white heads and black heads. (Believe me, no matter how “clean” you think your skin is, we all have these impurities — and they must be removed, pronto!)
Step 6 : A cool (with a minty feel and smell!) black mask loaded with collagen and other anti-aging benefits is applied all over the skin.
Step 7 : After 15-20 minutes, the black mask is removed and skin feels super soft, clean and fresh again — making you look like you slept for a hundred years — yes, like Sleeping Beauty!
