When I celebrated my blog’s 2nd anniversary recently, I ran a contest with Makati Shangri-La Manila we aptly called: The Spoiled Selfie. We asked followers and readers of The Spoiled Mummy to send their best photos while being spoiled in any of Makati Shangri-La’s outlets. So you can imagine how much fun I had sorting through all the spoiled selfies that were emailed to me!
Some photos showed them enjoying their afternoon tea with their girlfriends at the Lobby Lounge, some were seen feasting in the buffet at Circles and some were having their favorite dimsum with their families at Shang Palace, while some were shown relaxing in their hotel rooms during a staycation holiday. It was surely hard for me to choose the best spoiled selfies! 🙂
The prize of the contest? Winners get to join yours truly in an intimate and exclusive chocolate buffet at Makati Shangri-La Manila!
The chocolate buffet at the hotel’s Lobby Lounge was prepared for us by no less than Executive Pastry Chef, Romain Renard. He was there even before the winners came. He set up our beautiful spread filled with the most exquisite and delicious chocolates.
We had a long table filled with the best and prettiest chocolate desserts. There were all kinds of them : chocolate spheres, cakes, cheesecakes, sponge cakes, ganaches, tarts, panna cotta, mousses, pots de crème, macarons, truffles and pralines. Chocolates in all forms, shapes and sizes… you name it and we had it!
The winners and I felt so spoiled that afternoon. We had as many chocolates as we wanted. We were transported to a Chocolate Wonderland!
Take a closer look at some of the chocolate desserts we enjoyed that day :
*Warning : there is chocolate overload here, so do not browse on an empty stomach! 🙂
Since our event was held in the afternoon and at the Lobby Lounge, we were lucky to have the lovely strings orchestra of the hotel with us!
What a beautiful afternoon it turned out to be! We were in Chocolate Wonderland enjoying our endless stream of chocolate desserts while listening to the beautiful music at the impressive Lobby Lounge. We were so spoiled that day!
So what did I have? I was able to take a photo of my first plate of chocolate desserts and my coffee. (I love pairing chocolates and black coffee.) My succeeding plates of desserts after this (yes there were many more) were a mishmash of everything else and did not look photogenic at all! So let’s just keep this as is for the record. 🙂
Of course I was excused, as I had to try each and every dessert that was in the buffet just like everybody else!
Makati Shangri-la Manila’s General Manager Alain Borgers himself dropped by The Spoiled Mummy’s event. He was there to make sure that we were having fun and enjoying the chocolate spread made exclusively just for us.
I also heard that the hotel is coming up with a very exciting Chocolate promotion this coming December… So stay tuned for that!
And now sending out my thank yous to everyone who made this exciting event possible…
